Types Of Lockouts

There is a general myth that locksmiths are dealing with lockouts all the time. In fact for general locksmiths it only accounts for less than ten per cent of our work and of these emergency call outs most of the time picking the lock is not required and this is the reason why. "Lock Outs" as locksmiths call them is where (A) A customer has either left their keys inside the property and shut the door or (B) Lost their keys.
In situation (A) if the customer has left their keys inside the property and shut the door behind them then unless its one of the newer doors then the door is not properly locked it cant be as the keys are inside. In this situation its normal for a locksmith to be able to open the door without the need to touch the lock by using bypass methods.
In Situation (B) If the customer has lost keys then they will no doubt need the locks to be changed and so picking might be slower or more difficult than drilling the lock so drilling the lock might be the best option.
