How Do Locksmiths Keep Themselves Updated

We are often asked by student locksmiths how we keep ourselves updated ? We network with other locksmiths through whatsapp groups, locksmith forums, youtube, locksmith journals and of course by visiting locksmith exhibitions one of which is held every October at the International Centre, Telford, Shropshire.
Visiting these exhibitions provides an opportunity to meet lock distributors, lock manufacturers and of course lock tool inventors. During our visit this year myself and Pam met Apecs locks and had time to see and feel their new lock range. We already have dealings with Apecs locks who own a factory in Taiwan (where a lot of locks are made) and because they own the factory they can also control the quality.
